Intervenciones Terapéuticas Para el Manejo de Úlceras por Presión en Paciente Geriátricos no Oncológicos en Cuidados Paliativos: Una Revisión Sistemática Therapeutic Interventions for the Management of Pressure Ulcers in Non-Oncology Geriatric Patients in Palliative Care: A Systematic Review

Las úlceras por presión constituyen una de las complicaciones frecuentes y de mayor impacto en pacientes geriátricos en cuidados paliativos, afectando su calidad de vida, confort y dignidad. La diversidad de enfoques y la falta de consenso en la literatura justifican la necesidad de consolidar la evidencia disponible. El objetivo de esta revisión sistemática fue identificar y describir las intervenciones terapéuticas utilizadas para el manejo de las úlceras por presión en pacientes geriátricos no oncológicos en cuidados paliativos, considerando estrategias de prevención, tratamiento y cuidado integral basadas en evidencia científica. Se realizó una revisión sistemática con enfoque cualitativo y alcance descriptivo, bajo las directrices del modelo PRISMA. La búsqueda se efectuó en PubMed, SciELO, Redalyc y Google Scholar, incluyendo estudios publicados entre 2020 y 2025 en español e inglés. Se analizaron 12 investigaciones publicadas entre 2021 y 2025. Los hallazgos evidencian que las intervenciones de enfermería, como el reposicionamiento, el uso de superficies de soporte, la evaluación del riesgo y la educación continua, constituyen estrategias relevantes para la prevención y el manejo de estas lesiones. Asimismo, las estrategias nutricionales y el manejo del dolor representan componentes esenciales del cuidado integral. Las úlceras por presión se relacionan con enfermedades crónicas, dependencia funcional y fragilidad, y presentan como principales factores de riesgo la edad avanzada, la inmovilidad, las comorbilidades y la presión prolongada. Su prevención y manejo requieren intervenciones de enfermería, educación, soporte nutricional, control del dolor, superficies de apoyo y un enfoque multidisciplinario orientado al confort y la calidad de vida
