Efecto de rizobacterias promotoras del crecimiento vegetal en la germinación y desarrollo de plántulas de Gmelina arbórea

La germinación irregular y el bajo vigor inicial en vivero limitan el éxito operativo de especies forestales de alto valor comercial como Gmelina arborea. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el efecto de la inoculación de diferentes cepas de rizobacterias promotoras del crecimiento vegetal (PGPR) sobre la germinación, el desarrollo morfométrico y la calidad de plántulas de G. arborea bajo condiciones controladas. Se utilizó un Diseño Completamente al Azar con diez tratamientos: un testigo absoluto y tres cepas bacterianas (Acinetobacter calcoaceticus [BMR 2-12], Enterobacter asburiae [PM 3-14] y Pseudomonas putida [PB 3-6]) evaluadas en tres concentraciones volumétricas (10 %, 15 % y 20 % v/v). Las semillas fueron sometidas a biopriming y, tras la emergencia, las plántulas recibieron inoculación radicular directa. A los 40 días se determinaron variables morfológicas aéreas y subterráneas. Los resultados demostraron una respuesta diferencial y especializada según la cepa aplicada (p < 0.05). El tratamiento con A. calcoaceticus al 20 % maximizó la germinación (50.2 %) frente al control (menor al 20 %), además de promover significativamente el crecimiento radial del tallo y el mejor índice de robustez. Por el contrario, la inoculación con E. asburiae (particularmente al 20 %) estimuló significativamente la altura (mayor a 40 cm), el número de hojas, la biomasa foliar y la longitud radicular, duplicando el desempeño del testigo. Se concluye que el uso selectivo de PGPR constituye una estrategia biotecnológica eficiente para optimizar los atributos morfoestructurales de G. arborea, acelerar los ciclos de producción en vivero y reducir la dependencia de insumos químicos en la silvicultura moderna.
