Realidad Virtual en la biomecánica cervical y percepción de dolor en el personal operativo Virtual Reality in cervical biomechanics and pain perception in operationa

Resumen

Las condiciones físicas y psicosociales inherentes al entorno laboral del personal operativo del ECU 911 implican la permanencia prolongada en posturas estáticas, uso prolongado de computadoras, movimientos repetitivos y situaciones de alta carga emocional. Estos factores incrementan significativamente la probabilidad de desarrollar alteraciones biomecánicas cervicales y dolor asociado, es por ello que la presente investigación tuvo por objetivo analizar el efecto de la Realidad Virtual (RV) en la biomecánica cervical y percepción de dolor en el personal operativo. El estudio presentó un diseño cuasiexperimental, con un enfoque cuantitativo, analítico y de corte longitudinal. Tras la aplicación de los criterios de elegibilidad se obtuvo un total de 33 participantes distribuidos aleatoriamente a un Grupo Control (GC) que realizó ejercicios cervicales convencionales y un Grupo Realidad Virtual (GRV) que realizaron actividades empleando escenarios de RV, se aplicaron 8 sesiones durante 8 semanas con una frecuencia de 2 a 3 veces por semana. En relación con los resultados, el GRV registra cambios significativos en todas las variables del estudio, evidenciando disminución del dolor, mejora del CROM, la fuerza isométrica cervical y la percepción del estrés (p<0,05); no obstante, el GC no evidenció resultados significativos en la rotación derecha (p=0,541) y la percepción del estrés (p=0,189). En conclusión, tras los efectos evidenciados, se la considera a la realidad virtual como una alternativa terapéutica prometedora en la rehabilitación cervical.
